Schloss Stadthagen stands in Stadthagen (Landkreis Schaumburg), in Lower Saxony, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Recorded dating: 16th century. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Schloss Stadthagen stands on the site of a moated castle raised after 1200 beside a busy trade route. The present building, erected between 1534 and 1544, still shows gables with semicircular crestings topped with balls, typical of the early Renaissance. It housed the Counts of Schaumburg until 1607, then served as a dowager's seat and later as a residence for the crown prince, before passing to the state in 1919. Its south wing holds ornate chimneypieces carved by the Flemish sculptor Arend Robin.
