To make a day of it

Jagdschloss Baum stands in Bückeburg (Landkreis Schaumburg), in Lower Saxony, Germany. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

The Jagdschloss Baum is a small hunting lodge in the Schaumburg Forest, on the road from Bückeburg to Lahde, and still belongs to the House of Schaumburg-Lippe. It was built in 1760-1761 for Count Wilhelm zu Schaumburg-Lippe and stands as an example of late Baroque Classicism. Behind the lodge lies an English landscape garden with a pond, followed by a grotto flanked by two early Baroque portals originally made for a hall in Bückeburg Palace. Nearby stands a step-pyramid family mausoleum built in 1776.
