To make a day of it

Schloss Sondershausen stands in Sondershausen (Kyffhäuserkreis), in Thuringia, Germany. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

Sondershausen Palace rises above the town of the same name in Thuringia, overlooking the market square from the hillside. Seat of the princes of Schwarzburg-Sondershausen until 1918, the building combines a medieval core with Renaissance wings from the 16th century, later Baroque and Rococo additions, and a 19th-century neoclassical reworking carried out by the architect Carl Scheppig. Visitors today can see several notable historic rooms, including the Giants' Hall with its stucco figures and painted ceilings, alongside the palace museum housed in the former princely apartments.
