To make a day of it

Schloss Rechenberg stands in Stimpfach (Landkreis Schwäbisch Hall), in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. No visits are on record for this building.

Schloss Rechenberg stands on a spur above the Rechenberger Rot at Stimpfach, built on the foundations of a Staufer-era castle completed around 1227. The complex has kept the layout of a moated castle, with its palas, the south wing added in 1571 and a well-preserved ring wall with defensive towers. A stone bridge now leads across the former moat, replacing what was once a wooden drawbridge, and a nearby castle church holds gravestones and coats of arms of the von Berlichingen family, longtime owners of the estate.
