Schloss Straß stands in an English landscape park on the edge of the village of Straß, part of Neuburg am Inn. Built from 1784 for a man who would become prince-bishop of Passau, this classicist mansion passed through a remarkably long line of owners, merchants, nobles and even a circus proprietor, before coming into the hands of its current family in 1922. Its original curved mansard roof was destroyed by a lightning-caused fire in 1952 and replaced with a simpler hipped roof.
