Schloss Molsberg stands on the site of a medieval stronghold first raised around 1030 by the lords of Molsberg to guard the old Hohe Straße trade route. The present baroque building has served since 1657 as the ancestral seat of the counts of Walderdorff. It is surrounded by an English-style landscape park, dominated by an avenue of lime trees planted in the late eighteenth century. The restored baroque chapel on the grounds received a federal craftsmanship award in 2010 for its conservation work.
