Schloss Junkernhees is a moated Renaissance castle standing in the Kreuztal district that now bears its name. Adam von der Hees had the main building erected around 1523, close to the older family seat, the Heesburg, first recorded in 1372. In 1698 a new owner, Dietrich Wilhelm von Syberg, added a timber-framed upper storey on the stone base, turning the former stronghold into a manor house. The building is counted among the oldest surviving timber-framed houses in the Siegerland region.
