To make a day of it
Schloss Jühnde stands in Jühnde (Landkreis Göttingen), in Lower Saxony, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Schloss Jühnde stands in Jühnde, Lower Saxony, on the site of a medieval Burg first recorded in 1290, which once overlooked the road between Münden and Göttingen. Its surviving medieval element is the 29-metre Moshus tower, built after the town of Göttingen recaptured and rebuilt the stronghold in 1484. The present appearance dates mainly from the early 19th century, when the von Grote family, who had held the estate since 1664, converted the old fortress into a residence in the romantic style and laid out a landscape park. Nearby stands the Jühnder Warte, a medieval watchtower linked to Göttingen's former defensive line.
