The Schloss Gieboldehausen, in Gieboldehausen, in the Landkreis Göttingen, Lower Saxony, stands on the site of a former vassal's seat of the Burg Gieboldehausen, once known as the 'house on the rampart'. The present building, a solid stone base topped by two overhanging half-timbered storeys, dates from 1528 according to dendrochronological analysis, commissioned by Hans von Minnigerode. The coats of arms of the builder and his two wives still decorate the ground floor, while the vaulted cellars, with their cross-ribbed ceilings, belong to an earlier structure, likely a moated residential tower. The building now houses the local registry office and adjoins a park laid out in the 19th century by Hilmar von Minnigerode.
