To make a day of it
Schloss Anberg stands in Kalbach (Landkreis Fulda), in Hesse, Germany. No visits are on record for this building.
The Schloss Anberg no longer stands: this medieval castle once rose at Uttrichshausen, the oldest district of the municipality of Kalbach in the Landkreis Fulda, Hesse. First recorded in 1392 as a fief of Fulda Abbey, it passed through several noble owners before being bought back by Prince-Abbot Adolf von Dalberg in 1729 and turned into an agricultural estate. Sold to the local Catholic parish in the early nineteenth century, it housed a chapel, a school and a vicarage before being torn down in the mid-twentieth century. The present parish church of St Boniface now stands on the site, while the old cellars of the castle were filled in and remain underground.
