Fuldaer Stadtschloss stands in Fulda (Landkreis Fulda), in Hesse, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
The Fuldaer Stadtschloss stands in the centre of Fulda on the site of a fourteenth century abbot's castle, gradually reshaped over the centuries into a baroque residence. Its present appearance owes most to Johann Dientzenhofer, brought in from 1706 by Prince-Abbot Adalbert I of Schleifras to give the residence of Fulda's prince-abbots and later prince-bishops a grander form. Traces of its layered history remain visible, from the first four-winged palace of the early seventeenth century to the baroque courtyard of honour and the neoclassical alterations made in the early nineteenth century. The building can be seen within Fulda's townscape, close to the cathedral.
