Schloss Ampfurth stands in the village of Ampfurth, now part of Oschersleben (Bode) in Saxony-Anhalt. Built in Renaissance style between 1608 and 1615 on the site of an earlier medieval stronghold, it still holds in its church the tombs of the von der Asseburg family, who owned the estate for centuries. Its octagonal stair tower, raised in height during the 19th century to serve as a relay station on the Prussian royal telegraph line between Berlin and Koblenz, remains the most distinctive feature of the site.
