To make a day of it

Runder Berg stands in Bad Urach (Landkreis Reutlingen), in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

The Runder Berg rises above the valley near Bad Urach, in the Landkreis Reutlingen, Baden-Württemberg, at about 711 metres, on an isolated spur of the Swabian Alb escarpment. The summit was occupied in several successive phases from the Bronze Age to the early Middle Ages, including the fortified seat of a minor Alemannic king in the 4th and 5th centuries. Excavations carried out between 1967 and 1984 uncovered traces of halls, craft workshops and earth and stone fortifications, though nothing remains standing above ground today. The site is best experienced through its wide view and its layered history rather than any visible ruins.
