The Palais Heydenab stands in the historic centre of Gunzenhausen, at the point where the market square meets Kirchenstraße and Weißenburger Straße. This baroque building was originally planned as the town hall, but a shortage of funds changed its course early on. Visitors passing by can see its outdoor staircase, central projecting bay topped with a dormer, and rusticated corner pilasters beneath a mansard roof.
