Neues Schloss Baden-Baden stands in Baden-Baden (Baden-Baden), in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Recorded dating: 14th century. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Standing on the Florentinerberg above Baden-Baden, the Neues Schloss occupies the site of a fortress raised in the late 14th century over the town's market square. Seat of the Margraves of Baden and, from 1535, of the Margraves of Baden-Baden, it was burned by the troops of Louis XIV in 1689 and rebuilt in the early 18th century on its surviving walls. Visible today are the three-storey Renaissance main building, the archive tower and the 15th-century gatehouse, together with a terraced garden of rare plants laid out in the 17th century. Since 2003 the property has belonged to Kuwaiti investors, and the plan to turn it into a luxury hotel was formally abandoned by the city council in 2022.
