To make a day of it

Yburg stands in Baden-Baden (Baden-Baden), in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

The Yburg is a ruined hilltop castle on the western fringe of the Black Forest, crowning the Yberg above Baden-Baden. Built around 1200 by the Margraves of Baden, it was destroyed three times over the centuries, most notably in 1689 during the Nine Years' War, and was partly restored at the end of the 19th century. Its 20-metre western keep can still be climbed as a viewing tower, giving a wide outlook over the Rhine plain and the surrounding vineyards.
