Schloss Rastatt stands in Rastatt, within the Landkreis Rastatt, in Baden-Württemberg. Built from 1697 onward for Margrave Louis William of Baden-Baden, it is regarded as the oldest Baroque residence in the Upper Rhine region, modeled on Versailles. Visitors can see the main building, its grand staircases, and the Ancestral Hall, decorated with frescoes depicting the margrave's military campaigns against the Ottomans. The palace was also where the 1714 Treaty of Rastatt was signed, ending the War of the Spanish Succession.
