Burg Maienfels stands above the Brettach valley, overlooking the village that bears its name, in Baden-Württemberg. Built in the 14th century on a rocky outcrop, it is easily recognised from afar by its half-timbered Palas built by the von Gemmingen family. Still privately owned, it now combines inhabited residences with a venue used for weddings, concerts and exhibitions.
