To make a day of it

Kassenburg stands in Marburg (Landkreis Marburg-Biedenkopf), in Hesse, Germany. No visits are on record for this building.

The Kassenburg is a former hill castle that has since vanished, its exact location still disputed among historians, situated near the town of Marburg. It appears only once in the historical record, in a 1234 document in which Emperor Frederick II confirmed a donation to the Teutonic Order of Marburg, by which time the structure was already gone. Various sites have been proposed over the years, including the Dammelsberg hill, an area near Sellhof at Wehrshausen, and the Kirchspitze hill, but no archaeological remains have been found at any of these locations to confirm them. As a result, there is currently no visible structure that can be securely identified with this name.
