To make a day of it

Hüburg stands in Einbeck (Landkreis Northeim), in Lower Saxony, Germany. No visits are on record for this building.

The Hüburg is a vanished fortification once situated between the villages of Greene and Ippensen, now part of the town of Einbeck in Lower Saxony. Built on a rocky spur above the Leine valley, it is thought to have preceded the Burg Greene, which was constructed in the early 14th century. All that survives today, hidden beneath forest cover, are earthen banks, ditches and wall foundations pointing to a settlement dating from the early medieval period. Excavations carried out between the 1970s and 1990s uncovered pottery fragments, animal bones and a handful of iron and glass objects.
