The Collenburg rises above the Main valley between Fechenbach and Dorfprozelten, set on a sandstone spur at the southern edge of the Spessart. Founded in the early 13th century by Walter von Schüpf, it passed through several noble families, the Schenken von Limpurg, the Rüdt von Collenberg and later the Counts of Reigersberg, before falling into decay during the 18th century. Visitors today find a ring wall with square towers, remains of the residential building and the palas, and a gatehouse dating from the early 17th century.

  • Stabilisation work was carried out in the 1980s, followed by partial restoration between 2005 and 2007.
