To make a day of it

Burgwall Robisch stands in Dohna (Landkreis Sächsische Schweiz-Osterzgebirge), in Saxony, Germany. No visits are on record for this building.

The Burgwall Robisch is a former fortified enclosure built on a rocky spur above the confluence of the Ritzschkebach stream and the Müglitz river, close to Dohna's railway station. Raised around the 10th century by a Sorbian community, it made use of steep natural slopes on three sides, with earthworks and ditches still visible on the exposed north-western flank. Archaeological finds trace occupation of the site back to the Bronze Age, long before the Sorbian defensive works were built. It functioned alongside the nearby Schlossberg, another Sorbian stronghold a kilometre away that was later built over by Dohna Castle.
