The Burg Sichelnstein stands as a ruin on a hillside at the western edge of the Kaufunger Wald, overlooking the valley of the Ingelheimbach stream. Its horseshoe-shaped layout and surviving outer wall, reaching seven to ten metres in places, give a sense of the medieval stronghold it once was, though its inner structures have long vanished. Visitors can still make out narrow slit windows, the remains of a chimney, and a Gothic pointed-arch gateway that still forms the entrance to the ruin. The surrounding wooded setting of the Münden nature park adds to the appeal of a visit.
