Burg Steinbrück is a former moated castle on the Fuhse river, standing at the historic border between the bishopric of Hildesheim and the duchy of Brunswick. Built after 1370 to guard the trade road and its stone bridge, it went through sieges, plunder and rebuilding until the 17th century before being turned into a farm estate. Visible today are the fortified gatehouse, the square keep with its former dungeon, the four storey main residential wing and the round Kehrwiederturm tower, now used as a church. Most of the complex was sold to private owners in 2013 and still awaits restoration.
