Burg Peine stands in Peine (Landkreis Peine), in Lower Saxony, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. No visits are on record for this building.
Peine Castle refers to the former stronghold that stood, from the 12th century onward, on a raised mound surrounded by the marshy lowlands of the Fuhse river, on the site of today's Schlossberg in Peine. Rebuilt as a bastioned fortress in the 17th century, it was dismantled in the early 19th century to make way for administrative buildings, leaving only earthwork traces behind. Since 2000 the former moats and ramparts have been turned into a public park, with information panels recounting the site's history. This is a place for a historical walk rather than for visiting a standing building.
What to know
- No building from the medieval castle or the later fortress survives; only moats and one earthen bastion remain visible.

- Information panels placed throughout the park explain the history of the castle and fortress.
- The nearby Schlossberg now houses Peine's local court (Amtsgericht), on the site of the former stronghold.
- The park regularly hosts open-air events.
