To make a day of it
Burg Pfarrköpfchen stands in Stromberg (Landkreis Bad Kreuznach), in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
The Burg Pfarrköpfchen is a ruined castle set on a narrow rocky spur northeast of the old town of Stromberg, in the Hunsrück region, at the edge of the Soonwald forest. This site is the original Stromburg, whose foundations were only uncovered between 1984 and 1988 by regional heritage archaeologists, after its remains had long been mistaken for Roman-era ruins. Visitors can make out a massive fortified building of the 'strong house' type, ending in a reinforced point on its eastern side, along with traces of a Romanesque chapel with four interior pillars, its floor partly made of reused Roman tiles.
