Burg Stahleck stands in Bacharach (Landkreis Mainz-Bingen), in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Stahleck Castle stands on a rocky spur above the town of Bacharach, within the UNESCO-listed Upper Middle Rhine Valley. Founded around 1100 by the Archbishops of Cologne, it later became the seat of the Counts Palatine of the Rhine and the setting of a marriage that became known in local history. Destroyed by French troops at the end of the 17th century, it was rebuilt during the 20th century and now houses a youth hostel. Its terrace gives a wide view over the river and the surrounding vineyards.
