Burg Limburg (Hessen) stands in Limburg an der Lahn (Landkreis Limburg-Weilburg), in Hesse, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Perched on a limestone outcrop just behind the cathedral in Limburg an der Lahn, Limburg Castle brings together buildings from several periods around a courtyard open toward the river. The residential keep, raised around 1250 under Gerlach I of Limburg, stands next to St Peter's Chapel, the oldest surviving part of the complex, which still holds an early Gothic wall painting of St Christopher. Over the centuries the site housed a trade school, a diocesan museum and a teacher training institute before the town of Limburg bought it in 2000.
