Grubenhagen Castle is a ruined medieval stronghold perched on a 298-metre hilltop above the surroundings of Einbeck, in Lower Saxony. Built in the 13th century, only its round keep, rising more than 17 metres, has survived along with traces of the fortified plateau and its double ditches. Left to decay for a long time, the site has been partly restored through the efforts of a local heritage association and remains a popular destination for walkers.
