To make a day of it

Burg Enzen stands in Zülpich (Kreis Euskirchen), in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. No visits are on record for this building.

Burg Enzen marks the site of a former moated castle and an earlier motte, on the eastern edge of the village of Enzen, part of Zülpich. Built in the 12th century by the von Enzen family, the stronghold was destroyed in 1470, rebuilt, and then gradually fell into ruin, a state already reached by the early 18th century. What survives today are the outline of a square moat and a mound from an older motte structure. The outer bailey buildings, reworked after a fire in 1647, were largely demolished in the 20th century.
