To make a day of it

Burg Dorndiel stands in Dorndiel (Landkreis Darmstadt-Dieburg), in Hesse, Germany. No visits are on record for this building.

Burg Dorndiel was a small moated stronghold, now entirely vanished, that once stood on the grounds of the former Dorndieler Hof at Dorndiel, a district of Groß-Umstadt in the Odenwald region. It served as a residence for the lords of Amorbach, minor nobles also attached to nearby Burg Breuberg, who are recorded as holders of the castle in 1390. Remnants of its foundations were still noted around 1786, likely reused in building the farmstead that later occupied the site. No visible trace of the castle remains today, and the ground has never been archaeologically investigated.
