Burg Dhronecken stands in Dhronecken (Landkreis Bernkastel-Wittlich), in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Burg Dhronecken is a former stronghold that evolved over the centuries into a residential and administrative complex, in Dhronecken, in the Landkreis Bernkastel-Wittlich, Rhineland-Palatinate. First recorded around 1300 through the knight Conrad von Tronecken, it reportedly served from 1309 as the retirement seat of Friedrich Wildgraf von Kyrburg, the last provincial grand master of the Templars for southern Germany. Repeated sieges, destructions and an earthquake left only a corner tower standing, which visitors can still climb, while a later building known as the Schloss now houses a forestry office. Listed as a Kulturdenkmal in Germany, the grounds also include gardens maintained since 1985 and, below the site, a natural playground along the Thalfanger Bach stream.
