Bertradaburg stands in Mürlenbach (Landkreis Vulkaneifel), in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
The Bertradaburg rises above the village of Mürlenbach on a rocky spur 348 metres high, in the volcanic Eifel region. Local tradition holds that Bertrada, mother of Charlemagne, once lived here, though the fortress is only documented in writing from the 13th century, when it belonged to the imperial abbey of Prüm. Today the site is dominated by its striking thirty-metre double tower gateway, restored and visible from afar, along with a 16th-century roundel and a medieval shield wall.
