Standing below the Grand Perron in the commune of Oullins-Pierre-Bénite, the Petit Perron is a 16th-century residence that emerged from farm buildings joined together by the Gondi family, Florentine merchants settled in Lyon. Its facade is marked by stacked galleries inspired by Tuscan architecture, facing terraced gardens with views over the Rhône valley and, on clear days, as far as Mont Blanc and Mont Pilat. Remains of towers recall that the estate was fortified late in the 16th century. Split into separate dwellings during the 20th century, the property underwent restoration work from 1980 onward, which uncovered paintings in the south wing.
