Château de Lumagne stands in Saint-Genis-Laval (Rhône), in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 17th century). The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.
Built in the early 17th century by the Lumagne family, bankers of Grisons origin ennobled by Henry IV, this château in Saint-Genis-Laval arranges a square main building and two pavilions with four-sided tiled roofs around a courtyard. Inside, a salon painted in the style of the Poussin school and a monumental coat-of-arms fireplace dated 1631 survive, while the park holds a former chapel and exotic trees such as a ginkgo biloba. A private property, the Château de Lumagne, also known as the Château de la Citadelle, is not open to visitors.
