Château du Mazeau stands in Rempnat (Haute-Vienne), in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. The building is listed as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 16th century, 17th century). The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.
On the Millevaches plateau, just outside the village of Rempnat, the Château du Mazeau stands with its 16th-century silhouette, corner turrets and a carved doorway bearing a coat of arms. Its roof frame, built in the shape of an upturned boat hull, remains one of the building's most unusual features. Nearby stands a 17th-century dovecote that also served as a mill and bread oven, together with a hydraulic network built to drain spring water from the surrounding land. A private property, the château has kept most of its original appearance since it was built.
