To make a day of it

Château du Fresne-Camilly stands in Le Fresne-Camilly (Calvados), in the Normandie region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: first half of the 17th century, first half of the 19th century). The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.

In the hamlet of Camilly, this Norman château built from Creully limestone preserves parts older than its early 19th century reconstruction: a dovecote, a chapel, cellars and moats. The present building dates from 1624, raised for the Blouet de Camilly family, before being burned down in 1792 and later rebuilt for the comte Leforestier d'Osseville. The dovecote, now without its roof but structurally intact, remains one of the site's most notable features.
