What the French Ministry of Culture records

Le château, au centre d'un parc à l'origine, a subi à plusieurs époques, et surtout en 1910, de profonds remaniements qui ont beaucoup altéré sa silhouette. Il se compose actuellement de deux corps de bâtiments disposés en L, l'aile ouest figurant sur les plans du 17e siècle ayant disparu. La façade nord baigne dans les douves et s'agrémente de deux tours carrées qui encadrent une terrasse avec embarcadère. L'ensemble comprend également des communs. La demeure a appartenu au poète Jean Vauquelin de la Fresnaye, contemporain de Malherbe.
