To make a day of it

Château des Roches-Saint-Quentin stands in Saint-Quentin-sur-Indrois (Indre-et-Loire), in the Centre-Val de Loire region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 14th century, 15th century, 16th century). Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

Standing on a slope above the Indrois valley, in the commune of Saint-Quentin-sur-Indrois, this privately owned castle is now home to a religious community and is not open to visitors. Its interest lies in a cylindrical 14th-century tower, the sole remnant of the original fortified building, topped with a Renaissance scale-patterned dome, along with a square dovecote pierced with over a thousand nesting holes. It can therefore only be seen from outside the estate.
