To make a day of it

Château de Wasigny stands in Wasigny (Ardennes), in the Grand Est region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 17th century, 18th century). The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.

At the northern edge of Wasigny, in the Ardennes, this former fortified house turned farm still shows the look of a 17th century château despite demolitions ordered during the Revolution. The most striking feature is the entrance porch, topped by an upturned-hull roof and flanked by two uneven pavilions, along with an older corner tower pierced with gun loops. The rear building, in brick with stone quoins, completes the group standing beside the Vaux river.
