The Château de Vaurenard stands in Gleizé, at the heart of a Beaujolais wine estate whose origins trace back to a hunting lodge once used by the lords of Beaujeu. The U-shaped main building, altered during the 17th and 18th centuries and again reworked in the early 20th century, is accompanied by a neo-gothic chapel and a formal French garden laid out by landscape designer Linossier. The whole complex, including outbuildings, the main courtyard, gates and the park with its water system, is listed as a historic monument.
