To make a day of it

Château de Bionnay stands in Lacenas (Rhône), in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

The château de Bionnay stands in Lacenas, west of Villefranche-sur-Saône, on an estate that passed through many families from the 16th century onward, from the Marzé lords to its present owners. The main building seen today dates largely from 1830, flanked by polygonal towers and fronted by a monumental staircase, while a turret and two older towers survive from the original structure. The four-hectare park, restored at the end of the 20th century, is open to visitors and includes a French formal garden, a grotto and rose-themed gardens, recognised with the remarkable garden label.
