Château de Siorac stands in Siorac-en-Périgord (Dordogne), in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: fourth quarter of the 18th century). No visits are on record for this building.
The château de Siorac stands on elevated ground north of Siorac-en-Périgord, in the Périgord noir. Its present façade, completed in the last quarter of the 18th century, conceals a much older structure, parts of which remain visible in the cellars and certain masonry. The site's history goes back to the Hundred Years' War, when the fortress that once stood there passed repeatedly between French and English hands. The rectangular main building and its two asymmetrical wings reflect this layering of periods.
