Château de Saint-Mesmin stands in Saint-André-sur-Sèvre (Deux-Sèvres), in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. Built around 1370 on a rocky outcrop above a marshy plain in the Deux-Sèvres region, Saint-Mesmin castle retains its hexagonal curtain wall flanked by horseshoe-shaped towers and a cylindrical keep added the following century. On the eastern side, a twin-towered gatehouse frames the entrance once guarded by a portcullis and drawbridge. Inside, a vaulted chapel with ribbed groin vaults and the lord's hall in the main building reflect the medieval building phases, while the site now offers medieval-themed activities.
