What the French Ministry of Culture records

Château bâti sur l'emplacement d'une ancienne villa gallo-romaine. Deux ailes sont greffées en retour d'équerre sur un donjon central. Le premier donjon devait dater du 12e siècle. Il fut détruit une première fois pendant la guerre de Cent ans, puis une seconde pendant les guerres de Religion. Le château fut brûlé et détruit. La partie supérieure du donjon ne fut pas reconstruite. Dans l'angle de ces deux ailes est placée une tour rectangulaire où est logé un escalier droit tournant à jour central carré. L'aile nord, qui est la plus ancienne, conserve dans la salle à manger une cheminée du 17e siècle et, dans le salon, de faux lambris moulés installés sans doute au début du 20e siècle. Après un incendie, l'aile sud a été reconstruite en 1762.
