Standing at the heart of the village of Saint-Geniès, in the Périgord Noir, this castle forms a U-shaped layout around the square it has overlooked since the Middle Ages. The original 13th century building gave way in the 16th century to the structure seen today, later completed by a stair tower in the 17th century. Its most striking feature is the oval tower with machicolations rising above the square in front of the church, along with roofs covered in traditional stone slates.
