Le château aurait été bâti, à l'origine, par Etienne, comte de Penthièvre, au 12e siècle. Les vestiges actuels remontent à la reconstruction du 15e siècle. L'ensemble a été vendu comme bien national à la Révolution. Les pierres du château ont servi à la construction des fermes alentour. La tour d'angle contient un escalier ayant conservé son noyau intact.
