To make a day of it

Château de Roquevidal stands in Roquevidal (Tarn), in the Occitanie region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 14th century, 15th century, 16th century). The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.

In the Tarn department, the château de Roquevidal stands as a square fortified structure ringed by a moat and anchored by four round corner towers, a largely unaltered example of 14th century defensive architecture. Its main façade, pierced with mullioned windows and framed by a Renaissance doorway flanked by columns, reflects a late 16th century renovation campaign. Inside, a monumental stone staircase leads to the upper floors and a large hall with a fireplace decorated with Doric pilasters.
