In Masseret, Corrèze, the château de Rabaud is a square fortified manor house dating from the early 16th century, part of a wave of fortified houses built across the Limousin region after the Hundred Years' War. Its round stair tower topped with a pointed roof and its two corner turrets, now without their original caps, are typical of local architecture. The building owes part of its survival to the route of the A20 motorway, which runs just a few metres away.
