Château de Montivert stands in Saint-André-en-Vivarais (Ardèche), in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: third quarter of the 19th century). Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
At Montivert, in the commune of Saint-André-en-Vivarais in the Ardèche, stands a château built around 1857 for the Lacroix-Laval family, designed by architect Pierre Martin. Its turrets, watch-towers and false machicolations borrow from medieval and Renaissance forms, though the whole structure dates from the 19th century. Inside, panelled drawing rooms, coffered ceilings and a chapel with period paintings and stained glass have survived. Around the main house stand a U-shaped farm, a gatehouse and an enclosed kitchen garden, remnants of the original working estate.
